Privacy Policy

Aislewise is an independent California-based web application that provides health scores and price comparisons for grocery products across California stores. We are not affiliated with any grocery store, brand, or retailer listed on the site. Contact: privacy@aislewise.app

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service: Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and name through Clerk, our authentication provider. You may also sign in with Google, which shares your name and email with us. Payment information: If you subscribe to Aislewise Premium, your payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe stores your billing details securely on their servers. Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage data such as which pages are visited and which filters are used. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used only to improve the app. Local storage: Your saved product list is stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you are signed in, in which case it may be synced to your account.

We use your information only to: • Provide and maintain the Aislewise service • Process your Premium subscription through Stripe • Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets) through Clerk • Respond to support requests if you contact us • Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third party except as described in Section 4.

Aislewise uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies: Clerk (authentication): Manages account creation, sign-in, and session management. Privacy policy at clerk.com/privacy. Stripe (payments): Processes Premium subscription payments. Privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. Google Sheets (product data): Our product database is stored in a publicly published Google Sheet. No user data is stored there. Vercel (hosting): Our app is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracking tools.

Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which will permanently delete your data. Payment records: Stripe retains payment records as required by law (typically 7 years). We retain subscription status records to manage access. Anonymous usage data: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.

As a California resident, you have the right to: • Know what personal information we have collected about you • Request deletion of your personal information • Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell data) • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@aislewise.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Aislewise uses minimal cookies: Authentication cookies: Set by Clerk to keep you signed in. These are essential and cannot be disabled if you use an account. No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. This will sign you out of your account.

Aislewise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@aislewise.app and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users by email or by a prominent notice on the site. Your continued use of Aislewise after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
